This month our resident area guide Jamie Newson-Love explores the beautiful village of Studham.
Situated in an Area of Outstanding Beauty on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, and with the Dunstable Downs and the National Trust’s Ashbridge Estate right on the doorstep, Studham offers an abundance of rural charm. In fact, this Bedfordshire village was named one of the best places to live in lockdown!
The common is the epicentre of the village, a designated County Wildlife Site, and highly valued by locals as a place of recreation and a haven for wildlife. Studham is also home to a historic village Church, two traditional country pubs: The Red Lion and The Bell, as well as a sports club nearby.
The population today is just over 1,000 people, meaning Studham is the perfect place to trade the hustle and bustle of city life for the calm of the countryside.
