At the end of November, employees from Ashtons braved the cold to join forces with Earthworks, a fantastic local charity based in St Albans. Earthworks provides therapeutic horticultural services to support individuals with learning disabilities and mental health challenges. It was a privilege to lend a hand and contribute to their inspiring work.
Our team spent the day at Earthworks’ 3-acre allotment estate, rolling up our sleeves and taking on a variety of tasks. From repairing groundwork and creating path borders to digging new walkways and laying membrane around the allotment areas, it was a day full of teamwork and dedication. Everyone came together with great enthusiasm, and the results were incredible to see!
Angelina, our coordinator from Earthworks, expressed her gratitude for the team's hard work, saying:
I don't think we've ever had a team get through so much work and naturally come together as a team as much as you have. Thank you to everyone who came. You were amazing, you all worked so hard and very quickly. Over this last week, we have had many compliments and surprised exclamations. All positive and very pleased with how much you achieved.
Hearing such kind words from Angelina and seeing the impact of our efforts was truly rewarding. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, and we’re already looking forward to more opportunities to support great causes like Earthworks in 2025.
