On the 17th March Hatfield house played host to the annual Dogs and Daffs charity event in aid of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). At the RDA, their horses benefit the lives of over 20,000 disabled children and adults. Fun activities provide therapy, fitness, skills development and opportunities for achievement - all supported by 13,000 amazing volunteers and qualified coaches at over 400 centres across the UK.
Ashtons have been part of this local event for the last 4 years and has sponsored the dog show arena. Despite some challenges with the weather at start to the day, the weather cleared and it was a lovely afternoon with the dog show taking place. There were lots of local businesses with stalls and plenty of amazing food to enjoy.
I had the privilege of judging the veteran category for dogs over the age of 8 and I have to say it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do! If I had my way, they would have all have received rosettes!
It’s great to be part of such a fantastic local event, all for a great cause. And I have since been told they raised over £8,000 for the RDA, which is a fantastic result!
We are already looking forward to supporting this fantastic event next year.
